By leaving out the wavelengths plants won't use, they provide better energy efficiency than conventional grow lights. Over 80% of the light emitted from an HID Light is wasted in the form of non-absorbable light waves as well as heat energy.

The red and blue lights of LED will play an important role. A combination of both red and blue light would be required for the full growth of a fruit or flower bearing plant. Red LED Light
